Dear residents of Ra'anana,
On a personal note, we find ourselves in one of the most challenging times to manage a city during wartime. Ra’anana, thanks to you, its residents, serves as an exemplary model of resilience and generosity, demonstrating unity and willingness to help in every possible way..
I am once again running for office independently, with no affiliation or commitment to any national political list, purely out of connection and love for Ra’anana. The candidates on my list are the beautiful faces of Ra’anana. The current situation requires responsible management and unifying leadership.
I have always emphasized that in our Ra’anana, there is enough air for everyone, and all communities in the city are equal. My policy places maximum investment in the residents. Over the past five years, Ra’anana has undergone significant changes in its systemic, organizational, environmental, managerial, and economic aspects. We have regained our status as a model city for quality of life and success.
Our city leads in various aspects among local authorities in Israel: education, economy, urban renewal, smart city initiatives, public services, city aesthetics, culture, and infrastructure. Only you, the residents, can determine the future of Ra’anana, ensuring prosperity, growth, stability, and quality of life.
Urban Security: When war broke out, Ra’anana was well-protected, and we rapidly established one of the most advanced security systems in the country. As a Lieutenant Colonel in the IDF Reserves (Head of the Home Front Command Population Branch), the issue of emergency preparedness has always been a top priority for me, alongside the issue of resilience. Despite current and future threats, we will continue to focus on resilience and security, providing a response to a wide range of emergency events, reinforcing the home front. Ra’anana aims to be the safest city in Israel, as evidenced by a 20% decrease in crime. We invested and will continue to invest in smart infrastructure, such as cameras and smart sensors, enhance urban patrols with human resources, establish a police station in the city, and strengthen parent patrols. Road safety was also a priority, as demonstrated by winning “5 Beauty Stars” in the national road safety competition.
City Budget: We created the city budget from the deep deficit we inherited before our term. We elevated Ra’anana to a AAA credit rating, the highest from S&P International Credit Rating Company. We reduced loans from 50% to only 22%, investing in commercial and industrial development areas that bring in significant revenue to the city.
Education: Education in the city aligns with an advanced and pluralistic vision. The main emphasis is on skills development, incorporating up-to-date technologies for the 21st century and socio-emotional learning. We implemented a multi-year plan to upgrade all schools in the city with an investment of 150 million NIS. We built and opened 5 schools and 30 kindergartens, addressing the needs of different populations in the city. In the next term, we will build 7 more schools and 30 additional kindergartens. Thanks to the investment in education, advanced learning plans, and a significant increase in eligibility for matriculation, we won the regional education award.
Public Space: We developed urban infrastructures in existing and new neighborhoods. We initiated roads like the Shimon Peres Bypass Road, which will connect Ra’anana to the coastal road and Ayalon Highway. We advanced the establishment of the young families’ neighborhood in the west, developed green lungs, and initiated a recreational and cultural complex in the industrial area, to be completed in the summer. We will continue to improve bike paths, promote public transportation, and work for sports, including the construction of a football stadium.
Culture: A green city encouraging its residents to engage actively. We promote cultural and leisure activities with vibrant entertainment centers that have opened and are planned. We ensured leisure and entertainment centers for all ages, established a music center, upgraded community centers, and diversified youth activities in the city and youth movements, providing a permanent structure.
Welfare: Social services in the city advance as a top priority in the city’s overall vision. Social policy progresses to support diverse populations. Ra’anana is also addressing accessibility in public spaces, reducing inequality.
Public space in the city is a central factor for quality of life and community security, so the city invests and will continue to invest in its development and improvement. We built and upgraded dozens of public parks, including playgrounds, shades, and sports facilities. We will continue to upgrade leisure and sports facilities for the benefit of all residents.
Engineering, Development, Infrastructure, and Traffic: We continued to develop the city’s infrastructure to ensure Ra’anana remains an attractive city with accessible housing and employment options. We promoted 5,500 housing units, including small and affordable apartments in the young families’ neighborhood in the west of Ra’anana. We will continue to develop urban infrastructures in both new and old neighborhoods—green lungs, playgrounds, bike paths, sports and leisure facilities. Ra’anana leads in trade and new employment in the last five years, with 72.5 thousand square meters (compared to 60 thousand in Tel Aviv). We will continue to develop transportation infrastructures such as the Shimon Peres Bypass Road, a massive parking lot with 6,000 spaces, and upgrading public transportation.
Service and Innovation: Visible improvements have been made in every step we take to adapt to changing challenges and provide the highest level of service transparently. Our communication channels include frontal and digital public partnerships, WhatsApp groups for residents in various fields, doorstep service for those aged 80 and above, the implementation of a CRM system to manage all inquiries in all departments, and the launch of a new municipal application.
Sports and Health: “A healthy soul in a healthy body.” We will continue to develop a culture of leisure and sports for all ages. We established a baseball and football stadium in the heart of the park, a giant sports hall in Neve Zemer, new basketball courts in the park, and upgraded existing sports grounds. We promoted 12 km of bike paths and will add another 15 km. We upgraded and established fitness, ninja, and sports facilities for all ages and improved open sports grounds.
